Council officials, backed up by the heavy handed policy broke up and confiscated two anti-cuts stalls run by socialists in town today. Having realised that they have interpreted the law in a dubious way, they released the two people arrested with no charge. This is clearly intimidation of dissent in the run up to the 2nd October Tory Party Conference to be held in Manchester.
